Galt police arrested a fugitive early Sunday on outstanding warrants tied to the alleged assaults on her former boyfriend and his new girlfriend in Sacramento earlier this year.

The fugitive, 26-year-old Tina Barron, was featured on “America’s Most Wanted” television show on April 27.

Barron was apprehended shortly after 12:30 a.m. Sunday in Galt with assistance from members of the Joint Elk Grove-Galt SWAT team.

She was taken into custody after officers surrounded a house where she was visiting in the 500 block of Lincoln Way in Galt.

Barron tried to escape on foot out the back door of the residence but was taken into custody by a Galt K-9 team and police sergeant, Galt police officials reported.

“America’s Most Wanted” reported that the stabbings occurred Jan. 27 in the Sacramento home where the male victim had resided with Barron. Barron and the man reportedly had argued over custody of their children.

Barron was behind held today in the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center in lieu of $50,000 bail for investigation of felony assault with a deadly weapon and injuring a cohabitant or spouse.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
