Maddy is an approximately 5-year-old poodle, possibly mixed with terrier. Lil Bitz is her mother and Kibbles is her littermate. Maddy and her family were very matted when they came in, so they were shaved, but their coats are starting to grow back in. Their vaccinations are current, and they will be spayed and given microchips before going to their forever homes.

Maddy, Lil Bitz and Kibbles are all house-trained indoor dogs and are used to using a doggie door. They enjoy playing and lounging around, and are affectionate, loving, calm and well-behaved. They are also leash-trained and love lots of attention. They are great with other dogs, good with children and are fine with cats. They will make great little companions.

Maddy is being offered for adoption through Animal Friends Connection, a Lodi nonprofit organization dedicated to helping companion animals since 1990. For more information about Maddy, Lil Bitz and Kibbles, call 209-368-1761 or 209-365-0535.

To view other dogs and cats available for adoption, visit the sanctuary at 933 S. Cherokee Lane, Lodi, or visit www.animalfriends connect.org and www.pet finder.com/shelters/afc.html. Sanctuary hours are from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekends.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
