University of the Pacific's Westgate Center for Leadership and Management Development will offer a two-evening training program on the basics of how nonprofit boards operate.
Topics will include nonprofit board members' role, how to establish the organization's mission and goals, recruiting and retaining board members, finances, surviving in tough economic times, how to evaluate the executive director, raising money and running effective board meetings.
Instructors Peter Johnson and Lois Lang have served on and worked with many nonprofit boards.
The course will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on April 26 and May 2. Fee is $195 for registration prior to April 19. After that date, the fee is $225. For more information or to register, call 946-2956 or email email@example.com.
