Salvation Army asks Lodi to help feed the needy

What: The Stuff the Bus drive is collecting
food for the homeless, including typical holiday foods like turkeys
and hams, and non-perishable foods. The goal is to stuff a city of
Lodi bus with food for the Salvation Army by Sunday.
Where and when: Volunteers will be collecting
the donations from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
At the door to the grocery store, they are handing out the
- Frozen turkeys, hams and chicken
- Pasta and macaroni and cheese
- Boxed mashed potatoes or stuffing
- Canned fruits and vegetables
- Canned meat, fish or chicken
- Canned cranberry sauce
- Canned soups or chicken broth
- Cereal products
- Peanut butter
- Any other non-perishable item you can contribute

The city’s annual Stuff the Bus food drive had already received
45 turkeys for needy families as of 5 p.m. Friday in the
Food-4-Less parking lot.
Despite the weather, people were still showing up and dropping
off food they purchased in the grocery store.
