The city of Lodi is seeking talented seniors for the return of the Senior Follies in 2013. The auditions for the performance will be held on Jan. 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Charlene Powers Lange Performing Arts Theatre at Hutchins Street Square.
If you are over the age of 54 and can sing, dance, play an instrument or perform any other talent, you are encouraged to audition. Acts may be performed solo or in a group with at least one senior member.
The Senior Follies are performed in the style of an old-fashioned Broadway revue, featuring talented seniors in the community. Each performer is asked to audition with the act that they plan to perform in the show. Acts selected for the Senior Follies are expected to provide their own costuming, choreography, music and props for the performance.
All performers cast in the show will be given two complimentary tickets to the final performance.
This is the eighth year for the Senior Follies, originally started in 2001 in coordination with the Senior Center at Hutchins Street Square.
