With drought looming, residents find new ways to cut back on water use

With the drought lingering in California and talks of water rationing growing, some local residents are taking a major step in reducing their water usage — replacing their lawn with artificial turf.

After visiting this year’s Lodi Home and Garden Show, Bob and Linda Keir were impressed with the samples and information they got from a few of the artificial grass vendors. The couple received an estimate, and they were sold on ditching their lawn and saving the water.
