What the heck happened to Maggie Creamer's well written front page article---with color photo of now Mayor Mounce???
I would like to comment and read comments from others regarding this very interesting article but it seems LNS management quashed it.
Memo to LNS owners and managers----if you want to be relevant --be objective-manage your business----not the news.

I would rather not have a mayor voted in based upon tradition; but according to whether he/she will be able to do the job. Personally as well as a voter, I like Mayor Mounce and even sent her an e-mail the other day hoping that the outcome last night would be favorable for her. Do I disagree with her on various issues? Absolutely. But over the years we've been able to discuss these differences rationally without the "traditional" rancor that nearly always seems to override respectful discourse in the political realm.

So let me also offer my sincere congratulations to Mayor Mounce as well!

Also, I am puzzled as to why the LNS took both articles about the changing of the mayor down off of the internet site after only a day. They other articles up for weeks. Hmmm, wonder why?

Josh, I expect her to do a great job also. I guess the only ones that will be surprised are the ones that think otherwise. I can see why my last post wasn't clear as to what I intended. The sad part is that the article makes it sound as though she was elected because it was her turn and she needed a chance instead of that she truly deserved the position.

Robert, why will it be a surprise if Joanne does a "terrific" job? I expect it. :-)

I don't know what makes it a "surprise" Joanne Mounce was selected as mayor. She definitely is capable and deserves the seat. The only "surprise" will be what a terrific job she will do and the benefits Lodi will receive during her tenure. Congratulations, Joanne. I wish you all the best.

    Congratulations, Ms. Mounce!

Nice to see that the "tradition" was not upset and Ms. Mounce was afforded her turn as she should have.

    Congratulations Ms Mayor JoAnne.
Upon reading the Tuesday LNS saying: the council may depart from tradition---then seeing the LNS omit the article from their website -- I felt the fix was in--that Johnson would get another two years. Glad you now have the gavel.
