More than two months after police said he stabbed his mother with a steak knife in a Lodi apartment, a judge ordered Chad Elliott undergo psychological treatment at an assisted living facility in Stockton.

Last month, a San Joaquin County Superior Court judge ruled Elliott incompetent, preventing him from standing trial. Elliott, 25, faced several charges, including attempted murder. On Thursday, Judge Richard Vlavianos ordered Elliott be transferred from San Joaquin County Jail to Stockton’s Mom and Dad Guest Palace, which treats individuals with mental disabilities and illnesses.
