Downtown Lodi will be filled with zombies tonight as they celebrate the third annual Lodi Zombie Walk.

The evening will kick off at about 7 p.m as participants dance to the Michael Jackson classic “Thriller” adjacent to the Lodi Post Office parking lot at School and Oak streets. Zombie Walk organizer Tom Presler advises people to show up closer to 6:30 p.m.

After the “Thriller” dance is completed, the community, dressed in ghoulish costumes, will walk north on School Street and cross over to Sacramento Street. For those who come only to watch, there will be zombie scenes throughout the route.

After the walk, people can participate in the Zombie Pub Crawl, with local watering holes offering special zombie drinks. A zombie party will begin at 8 p.m. at The Vintage, at Sacramento and Elm streets. A burlesque dance contest will be held.

Prior to the walk, zombies will participate in a Halloween party at Abundance Winery, 1150 W. Turner Road. The Abundance party, from 5 to 9:30 p.m., will be for people of all ages, It will include live music, food and costume contests. Lodi Zombie Walk officials will also be at Abundance to apply make-up on anyone who wants to become a zombie.

Visitors can either stay at Abundance until closing time, or they can leave after the first 90 minutes and head Downtown for the zombie walk.
