A quick-thinking California Highway Patrol officer may have saved his own life Monday morning after a Thornton man aimed a gun at him, officials said.

The officer, a 10-year veteran with the CHP, was able to wrestle the gun away from the suspect and no shots were fired. Meanwhile, other law enforcement investigators believe the gun may have been used in a recent homicide, CHP spokesman Angel Arceo said Tuesday.

Some American heroes fight evil overseas, and some fight it here in the U.S. I am glad this hero came out unscathed. Was the suspect checked for legality? he sounds very arrogant and dangerous. Maybe cartel ties?Thornton is a haven for illegal aliens and should be put on ICE!!!

lionheart, you are correct in everything you say, I have a bro-in-law that works at DVI, some of the stories he tells me would make me wonder why he and the others that work there choose that for a job. Very, very dangerous as the cons will try their best to kill the personal that work there. After all you read in the paper, the guards that work there could care less about the ones that are locked up. Strange how the cons have so many rights compaired to the personal that work there.
