The San Joaquin County Public Defender's Office will not defend Molly Rachelle Wilson, 25, in her upcoming murder trial.

San Joaquin County Superior Court Judge Franklin Stephenson allowed the public defender's office to turn Wilson's case over to the Lawyer Referral Service. The group will select a lawyer to defend Wilson against charges of murder, being a felon or addict in possession of a firearm and being an accessory after the fact.

Wilson is accused of playing a role in the shooting of Galt native Brian McDaniel on June 20 in Acampo. McDaniel died as a result of his injuries earlier this week.

She and Kevin Jackson, 23, were arrested last week by the Elk Grove Police Department after the pair were involved in a solo-vehicle accident.

Wilson is being held on a $1,250,000 bond.
