Galt City Councilman Randy Shelton wants to hold a biannual luncheon to recognize the city's volunteers on various commissions and committees. The first should be next month.
Shelton has spoken publicly issues retaining its commission and committee members, all volunteer positions. Most recently, some commissions and committees have been unable to hold meetings since there have not be enough members for a quorum.
The luncheon is tentatively scheduled for June 21. Shelton asked his fellow city council members to attend to thank its volunteers in person.
