Galt's regional law enforcement training center project, which has been on hold for years, may be finally moving forward. The Galt City Council on Tuesday is expected to approve a $198,600 contract with an outside design firm.

In early 2009, council members approved a vision plan for the center with hopes of raising revenue from agencies looking to use the police department's shooting range, but was unable to move forward due to a lack of funding. Now, there is an adequate amount of money in the city's capital improvement project fund, according to city staff.
