Shanise Stewart, 17, turns her back to a group of 50 people at
the Elks Lodge in Woodbridge on Monday afternoon and gathers
herself. At that point she's Shanise, a senior and member of the
Speech and Debate Team at Lodi High School.
But in the moment it takes the teenager to turn around and face
the crowd, she's Billy, an affable pre-teen who just got a new
bike, a bike he named Betsy.
