Jazz, a giant draft horse from Lodi, will be in Downtown tonight celebrating its first big-screen debut.

All Seasons Carriage Company owner Deena Kirby and Jazz are featured in "The Five-Year Engagement," starring Emily Blunt and Jason Segel. They will make an appearance at Lodi Stadium 12 in Downtown Lodi tonight between 6 and 8:30 p.m., where Jazz will "sign" autographs and schmooze with fans.

All Seasons Carriage was asked to participate in "The Five-Year Engagement" after the crew had been filming for two months in Ann Arbor, Mich. When they began filming in San Francisco, they needed a horse and carriage to match the ones used in Ann Arbor, which All Seasons Carriage Company has.

Last June, Kirby drove her 42-foot truck and trailer into San Francisco, where they filmed for several days at Alamo Square and Marina Green Park. In January, the film company called Kirby and had them travel to Los Angeles for a re-shoot, as well.

In a film about a couple's very long engagement, the local carriage company was hired to transport main characters Blunt and Segel at the end of their wedding scene.

Kirby hasn't yet seen the movie, but she said she was filmed driving the carriage pulled by Jazz.

For Kirby, the company's first film experience was enjoyable. Not only did she get to experience a Hollywood production, complete with hair and makeup (though she wore most of her own uniform), the experience was profitable.

"It was well worth it," she said.

Today is opening day for "The Five-Year Engagement." All Seasons Carriage Company, including Jazz, will be outside of Lodi Stadium 12 tonight from 6 to about 8:30 p.m.
