CDFA seeking livestock identification adviser

CDFA’s Bureau of Livestock Identification is announcing a vacancy on the Livestock Identification Advisory Board, which makes recommendations to the secretary of agriculture about the curbing of livestock theft, legislation and procedures to improve the function of the bureau, and the bureau’s annual budget.

The term of office for a member on the board is four years. Members of the board receive no compensation, but are entitled to reimbursement for mileage. The present board membership consists of two beef cattle producers, two dairy producers, two registered feedlot operators, and one livestock marketing business representative.
