Lodi Unified School District trustees have given Superintendent Cathy Nichols-Washer a one-year contract extension through June 30, 2016. The action was taken after a 90-minute closed session Tuesday night.
Nichols-Washer’s contract will be on next Tuesday’s school board agenda for formal approval.
The board will consider adding five days to Nichols-Washer's work year with the adjustment to her salary for the 2013-2014 school year to reflect the extra five days, just as the board for all other employees in the district. The school board previously added five instructional days for the 2013-14 school year.
Nichols-Washer became superintendent on July 1, 2008. She was previously superintendent at Manteca Unified School District, where she had worked since 2003. Before being hired in Manteca, Nichols-Washer was a Stockton Unified School District administrator and a principal in 1999.
Her contract will be considered at 7 p.m. next Tuesday at the James Areida Education Support Center, 1305 E. Vine St., Lodi.
