A Lodi resident was stopped by Lodi firefighters Thursday afternoon after she sped through an area that had been marked off for the department's aerial training, police said.

Veronica Rodriguez, 25, was flagged down by firefighters around 2:45 p.m. as she was headed south on Sacramento Street after she failed to turn around at a set of cones that had been put up behind Fire Engine 2051, according to Lt. Tod Patterson of the Lodi Police Department.

She continued to drive through the cones and was attempting to turn onto West Locust Street when she was stopped by Capt. Brad Doell.

After speaking briefly with her, firefighters called police, who arrested Rodriguez on charges of driving under the influence, among other charges, Patterson said.
