Lodi Police Department

In the 24 hours since 2 p.m. Thursday, the Lodi Police Department handled 174 calls for service. The following is a sample of calls received by dispatchers.


2:18 p.m.: Several carloads of juveniles arrived at Henry Glaves Park, 2206 Oxford Way, and a fight was brewing.

2:49 p.m.: Half the juveniles at the Skate Park, 1145 S. Ham Lane, were not wearing helmets.

3:19 p.m.: Two men, one of whom sas holding a beer can, were involved in a fist fight at Star Market, 741 S. Cherokee Lane.

3:20 p.m.: A silver Toyota Echo was stolen in the 300 block of Poplar Street.

4:06 p.m.: Three men were dismantling a gold Olds Cutlass in the 500 block of East Tokay Street.

4:32 p.m.: People arrived at a relative's house in the 400 block of North Fairmont Avenue and were "taking a dog to a better place."

4:35 p.m.: Two children with shovels were digging in the middle of Henry Glaves Park, 2206 Oxford Way.

5:05 p.m.: A 4-year-old boy was crying as he walked west in the 400 block of West Lockeford Street.

5:36 p.m.: Two juveniles, ages 7 and 1, were left unattended in the parking lot of Rancho San Miguel Market, 620 S. Cherokee Lane.

6:38 p.m.: A man and woman stole more than $400 worth of items from Knowles Auto Parts, 420 E. Kettleman Lane.

6:54 p.m.: After stealing two 18-packs of Budweiser from Safeway, 2449 W. Kettleman Lane, two male juveniles headed north on Lower Sacramento Road in a white Ford Explorer.

7:15 p.m.: Someone had been using a chainsaw for hours in the 1300 block of South School Street.

7:52 p.m.: A drunken 18-year-old male was destroying property at Prime Shine Car Wash & Lube, 301 W. Kettleman Lane.

9:37 p.m.: After grabbing for his pocket while demanding money from a clerk at USA Gas, 35 N. Cherokee Lane, a man headed toward Elm Street on foot. He was described as a black man, wearing a black jacket, black pants, a beanie cap with his face covered.


12:33 a.m.: The driver of a Chevy pick-up truck with paper plates was arrested for driving under the influence at Comfort Inn, 118 N. Cherokee Lane.

8:29 a.m.: A silver Audi was stolen in the 400 block of South Central Avenue.

9:14 a.m.: After stealing mail in the 1700 block of West Vine Street, a suspect in a black jacket left on a bicycle.

10:46 a.m.: A man with no business at Perfection Automotive, 615 E. Pine St., entered and then left. Half an hour later, a wallet was discovered missing from the office.

11:59 a.m.: Someone burglarized a storage shed in the 300 block of Hilborn Street.

1:40 p.m.: A home was burglarized within the past two hours in the 1600 block of Saratoga Way.

2:20 p.m.: Gang members, possibly armed with guns and knives, were fighting in the 1000 block of West Pine Street.

2:45 p.m.: Another gang fight was reported, this time at Stockton and Oak streets. No weapons were seen, and people were running through the alley. The incident ultimately led to a vehicle stop and arrest on Harney Lane near Highway 99.
