A Galt man died on Feb. 14 after striking another vehicle at the intersection of Thretheway Road and Highway 12.

Cesar Chavez, 19, of Lockeford, who was traveling east on Tretheway Road, stopped at a posted stop sign in front of Highway 12, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Chavez then entered the intersection directly in the path of a 60-year-old Galt man riding a 2002 Harley Davidson, the CHP said.

Due to the speed the Galt man was traveling, he was unable to slow his motorcycle in time to avoid a collision.

The Galt man was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said.

That makes much more sense. The accident happened .2 miles from me. Still needs correcting.
