On Tuesday, the Lodi Unified School District board also:
- Discussed beginning a pilot program at Delta Sierra Middle School to provide social workers for needy students. Social workers assigned to the school area will help students with issues outside of school that may keep them from doing well, and will monitor these students throughout their education.
- Held a study session that highlighted future ideas for the district, including bringing back summer school, increasing school safety, improving special education services, developing technology use in schools and increasing teacher recruitment.

Members of the Lodi Unified School District board voted to approve the tentative agreement reached with the Lodi Education Association on Tuesday night at a special board meeting.
The agreement will restore some of the concessions teachers made in 2010, when they agreed to pay cuts during a time when the district was making sweeping budget cuts.
