Lodi City Council members, staff set goals

At the end of March, members of the Lodi City Council, city staff and local residents gathered at Hutchins Street Square for the city’s first goal-setting session in 12 years. They brainstormed dozens of areas where they felt the city could improve.

On Tuesday evening, they returned to the Square with a new goal in mind: prioritizing the ideas from the March session. That meant dividing them into goals the city should begin actively working toward now with formal plans and projects, and what City Manager Steve Schwabauer called “opportunity-cost items,” ideas on the back burner that staff would continue to work on in the long-term.
