The Federal Emergency Management Agency recently adopted new 100-year floodplain delineation maps for Sacramento County which included the city of Galt.

The maps have better, more accurate information, which resulted in about 20 parcels being removed from the 100-year floodplain. However, approximately 25 parcels were affected by the delineation.

City staff is mailing letters to property owners affected by the mapping changes to advise of potential changes to flood insurance requirements and where they may obtain additional information, according to City Manager Jason Behrmann.
