Galt high school district finally closes books on years-long project

Trustees for the Galt Joint Union High School District have closed the financial books on a years-long project, but not before shelling out an additional $168,612 for construction work already performed.
“Those kind of things happen,” Chief Finance Officer Audrey Kilpatrick said recently regarding the cost overruns.

Now Ms Bonnet...I challenge you to look at the academic legacy of the district and their vaunted programs. How is it that less than 10% of the students graduated with enough college prep courses to enter college without having to take bone-head English and Math for their first years. The state average is 35% and county 36%...the Similar Schools rankings are 37%. Hmmmmm

Sorry: The $3.2 million was just for the construction of the builiding. That number does not include Arch and plan changes that cost over $1.2M to move the building to a different location on campus...does not include the cost of the equipment...well over $.5M...does not include the cost for the additional electrical work at $.6M...nor misc costs and delays and "extras"...which brings the actual cost of the facility to well over $6M. I would also like to know just how much the entire school cost (the original contract was for $48M) I am certain it has ballooned to well over that amount.
