Lodi’s ready for fun on the 4th

Looking for somewhere to go for the Fourth of July? Here are some local events celebrating Wednesday’s Independence Day holiday:

  • Kiwanis will hold a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. at Lodi Lake. The cost is $6 for those ages 13 and up, $4 for children ages 5 to 12 or free for children under 5.
  • Lodi Lake festivities include laser tag and vendors. Beer, hot dogs, snow cones and other food items will be available for purchase. Public swimming and boat rentals will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission to the lake is free, but the cost for swimming is $3 for adults or $1.50 for children ages 3 to 17. The cost for boat rentals is $5 for each half-hour of pedal boats, $4 for each half-hour of single kayaks or $5 for each half hour of tandem kayaks. Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.
  • A parade on the Miracle Mile in Stockton will be held from 10 a.m. to noon beginning at Lincoln Street and Harding Way. There will also be entertainment and food.
  • The Stockton Family Fourth of July events will begin at 2 p.m. with a free youth baseball clinic hosted by Major League Baseball alumni at the Banner Island Ballpark, 404 W. Fremont St. A baseball game featuring the Legends of Baseball will be held at 6 p.m. Live music will begin at 8 p.m. and the fireworks show will follow at 9:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for the whole day.
