The California Department of Transportation is starting a repaving project on northbound and southbound Highway 84 between Highway 12 near the Rio Vista Bridge and the Cache Slough Ferry/Real McCoy Ferry Slip in Solano County.

The work is scheduled to start on Sept. 3 and be completed by Oct. 25. Work will start each day Monday through Friday at 6 a.m. and conclude at 6 p.m. All work is weather permitting.

One-way traffic controls will be in effect on Highway 84 between Rio Vista and the Real McCoy Ferry Slip. Crews will alternate lane closures in both directions, allowing one lane to stay open during the work.

Flaggers will help direct traffic. Caltrans will also install portable message signs alerting drivers to the project. Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra travel time.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
