The San Joaquin Taxpayers Association has asked the Board of Supervisors to postpone a decision on three appointments to the county’s Mosquito & Vector Control District’s board of directors.

Two incumbents, Mike Manna of Acampo and Marc Warmerdam of Lodi, have asked to be reappointed. The other applicant is newcomer Jay Colombini of Linden.

In a letter to the Board of Supervisors, Taxpayers Association President Dave Renison is requesting a postponement until the Mosquito Abatement board re-evaluate a policy that allows mosquito board directors to receive the same health insurance benefits that full-time employees do.

Renison added that the board positions be readvertised because the application period fell between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The Board of Supervisors will consider making appointments to the mosquito abatement board at Tuesday’s meeting, which begins at 9 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors’ chambers, 44 N. San Joaquin St., sixth floor, Stockton.
