Two men were arrested during the weekend on suspicion of shooting a man to death on March 15 at a Chevron gas station in Thornton, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.
Anthony Arriaga, 22, Stockton, was arrested at about 7:40 p.m. Friday during a traffic stop on a vehicle near East Realty Road and Curry Avenue in the Victor area, according to the sheriff’s office. Arriaga was a passenger in the vehicle and taken into custody, according to sheriff’s Lt. Mike Jones.
On Saturday, deputies arrested a second suspect, Ronald Rodriguez, 28, of Lodi, in the 8400 block of West Stockton Street in Thornton, Jones said.
Rodriguez and Arriaga were arrested on suspicion of homicide with gang enhancements in connection of the shooting death of Danilo Sandoval, 20, of Lodi, who was shot at a Chevron gas station on Walnut Grove Road, east of Interstate 5, Jones said. Lodi resident Giovanni Navarro, 21, was injured during the exchange of gunfire, Jones said.
