Galt building project moving forward

Galt's building department is continuing to work with a consulting structural engineer to gain a working set of structural plans in order for Public Works to develop an estimate of rehabilitating the Jaycee Building at 405 5th St.

The property was at the center of a costly lawsuit between the city and the now-defunct Boys and Girls Club of Galt. It was ultimately purchased by the city in 2010, but there has not been money available to rehabilitate the building.
