The California Department of Transportation will replace dozens of center divider posts on Highway 12 between Rio Vista and Suisun City from Wednesday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Center-line divider posts, also known as channelizers, were installed about three years ago to improve traffic safety in the region. This week's work will replace dozens of channelizers that have become worn and damaged.
Intermittent closures of Highway 12 between Drouin Drive in Rio Vista and Walters Road in Suisun City are scheduled. Crews will close the highway in both directions for 10 minutes at a time and then reopen the highway to release traffic.
