A parolee who has evaded police capture continued his streak late Wednesday after officers failed to find him in a neighborhood in Lodi.

Officers from multiple agencies searched ardently for the parolee-at-large in a neighborhood off Loma Street late Wednesday night after he allegedly dumped his car and fled on foot.

Law enforcement officers searched the neighborhood for hours, bringing in both a K-9 unit to sniff backyards and homes as well as a helicopter to search from the air.

The efforts yielded no results, and the parolee escaped.

He has evaded police for over three months, neighbors were told, but police are not giving up their search.

Lodi police could not give the name of the parolee as he is currently under investigation.

The search came at the tail-end of an 8-hour citywide sweep the Lodi Police Department spearheaded to check and make sure those on probation or parole had not violated court orders or the law.

Over a dozen people were arrested Wednesday, which added to the 18 arrests conducted during the first sweep last Friday.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
