Members of St. Anne's Catholic Church burst into applause after learning that their idea to buy a section of Walnut Street and turn it into a landscaped plaza was approved by the Lodi City Council on Wednesday.

The council held a public hearing on the project in front of an audience packed full of St. Anne's supporters.

This is appalling! The City should not do business with an organization that has a serious problem of rampant child sexual abuse purveying it, not to mention an agenda that seeks to prevent others from having equal rights.

In my opinion is, this is wrong. What if, our block wants to close our street for a plaza so that we can cross our street without fear of getting run over. I believe we are entitled to it, because the traffic on this city street is uncontrolled.

    Only $45,000?

Sounds like St. Anne's received some Catholic love in the price negotiations.

Yes Kim it is nice when things like this gets approved! Lets hope next weeks meeting in Stockton is as nice as to Not allow a Dog Kennel Operation less than 200 feet from our home, the planning commission did its planning with the measurements from house to house not barn/kennel to house and let me tell you what you would be glad you no longer live that close...... wish us luck. Dont get me wrong think they are doing great things just not so close to keep us up at all hours of the night and long hours during the day ~ unbelievable!
