pressureson. waaaahhhh. quit your crying slapnuts. LNS will print what they want. oh, national news is in the LNS, do you want them to stop that news? global news is in the LNS, do you want them to stop that news? now go back into your hole and think of something more intelligent to gripe about.

pre$$ure$on, and others who gripe about our coverage of Galt: Lodi's tax revenue is greatly benefited by Galt shoppers. If Galt residents want to go to the movies or shop at Target, they can either drive to Elk Grove or Lodi. It's a fast jaunt down Highway 99 to Lodi, rather than a drive through Elk Grove's hectic traffic.Yes, Galt has a weekly newspaper, but they do not include state, national or international news. Their publisher also has a policy of avoiding most controversial topics, or anything negative. I don't mean this as an insult, because obviously Galt residents still read that paper since it's still in business. But if they want more news, they read the Lodi News-Sentinel. Why shouldn't we give them some news, too?Galt residents are in the 209 area code. Criminals and law abiding citizens alike cross the invisible line between Lodi and Galt all the time. For that matter, both cities have a lot of the same issues. As always, if you think there's an issue we should cover and haven't, please call or e-mail us. We can't be everywhere at once, so we appreciate the extra eyes and ears.

Oh god. Pre$$ is another Lodi e-risto-crat! Hey dufus, do you have any idea how many papers LNS sells in G-Town? Neither do I but it's a lot! Everyone I know in G-Town gets the LNS. It's sold at every place that sells newspapers. In addition like other posters said, The Herald is nothing but a "Glorified School Paper"!Now the above should serve as a clue to who "LodiBill" really is. Those that pay attention will figure it out.No I don't live in Lodi. I'm proud to call the capital of all things AG my home. (Hey someone has to be the "Best" at the Ag stuff)

Weezer, right on. If I couldn't take, as well as give criticism I won't have an opinion to blog. Outside of Mr. Meredith and Pat Maple, there aren't any Galt bloggers nor dignitaries I could really care about.

pre$$ure$on, no problem expressing your opinion. But, when you come out swinging, you better be able to take some in the chin as well. :-)

Sorry to bring out the angst in you Emily. Again, it is only my opinion. You sound like one of the Weybret clan.

And another thing.. Why would Lodi News Sentinal stop talking about Galt and then lose out on all those subscribers. THink about it economically, when numerous newspapers are failing do you think Lodi's going to get rid of half their reader population to please you? yea right.. They know the Galt Herald isn't sufficiant news and have picked up the slack, gaining readers in the process. stop complaining.

pre$$ure$on shut up where do you expect Galt people to go to get local news. the towns are pretty much connected, it's not like Lodi has that much news anyways. Besides prayer at city meetings what is there!!? Traffic jams in Galt are the worst. The over pass at C street and the light at twin cities take forever!! It takes at least an additional 10 minutes getting out of town!

weezer, just expressing my opinion. Anything wrong with that? I'm just asking the Sentinel to concentrate on Lodi and those who have taken Lodi to it's lowest level ever just catering to the wealthy and well connected in Lodi and not the same old news from Galt. If the Galt newspaper ever wants to grow with its community, they should start a daily paper with the Lodi news predominently taking up their first page. A daily Herald would do well. I'd even buy it to get the Lodi news.

pre$$ure$on, you are the early favorite for the Lodi News-Sentinel Whiner of the Week award. Keep it up!

Why is this newspaper so fixated on Galt? This is San Joaquin county and I'd much rather have my local paper concentrate not only on city news but at least our own county news. Galt is in Sacramento county and has no bearing whatsoever on what's going on in Lodi or San Joaquin county. Many Galt articles are just controversial issues that this newspaper uses to make Galt look like a whipping post for the Sentinel. Why not use these efforts to expose the constant jousting in Lodi and the ways the wealthy and well connected use your city officials to make their own rules? Just look at all those issues that your council has passed since 2004, and sooner, that have only benefitted those select few. As many of these issues and projects were passed, the wealth level of many individual council members has risen drastically. Why is a Galt turnaround issue a front page story in the Lodi News-Sentinel?

Susan, if you family has an emergency you better call 911. There is no hospital in Galt for medical emergency's so getting the paramedics there will be the best. They will get there faster than you can drive to Elk Grove or Sacramento. For anything else it is the police department. They will make it thru the traffic.
