The city of Galt has adopted an expenditure plan to officially use approximately $1 million in leftover Measure R funds to fund up to two additional school resource officer positions.

The decision, made at Tuesday’s regular Galt City Council meeting, comes following the recent approval of a Memorandum of Understanding with both the elementary and high school districts to provide these services. Both positions are funded for only two years, according to Galt Police Lt. Brian Kalinowski. It is unclear what will happen after that, both he and City Manager Jason Berhmann told council members.
