In February 2012, the Galt City Council approved a Community Benefit Funding Policy for resident 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. The city is now preparing for this grant funding opportunity, which is intended to provide funding to local nonprofit organizations for specified community benefit programs and/or projects that will:
- Address an un-met/under-met and ongoing community need.
- Demonstrate long-term impact and quality outcome.
- Benefit a large cross section of community residents and/or businesses.
- Leverage additional funding to support the program.
Final grant decisions are made solely by the Galt City Council and will be made on a year-to-year basis. There is $10,000 budgeted for fiscal year 2013-14, which must be expended within the grant year (July 1 through June 30). If these funds are not expended within the grant year, they will revert back to the city.
