More than 200 Galt residents have signed a petition requesting the city create a four-way stop at a busy intersection within walking distance of several schools, with hopes of slowing drivers down.
Resident Maria Elena Rodriguez-Sperisen, who lives near Walnut Avenue and Elk Hills Drive in the residential neighborhood, hand-delivered the document to the Galt City Council at Tuesday’s meeting. She said she started the process a year ago when she noticed increases in pedestrian and bicycle traffic, as well as vehicles.
