Dino Cortopassi is a wealthy Lodi-area olive farmer who grew up in the fertile Delta, and as he tells it, is passionate about protecting it.

In recent weeks, he has channeled that passion into an expensive and highly negative advertising campaign against Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Anyway, I'd much rather see debates between Obama and Ron Paul. Any debates between Obama and McCain - providing there will be any - won't be worth watching.Thank God for DVDs.

Mr. Cortopassi might want to look at Ron Paul. His Rally for the Republic yesterday was a great success. From Salon:"If you were in the Twin Cities on Tuesday, you could be forgiven for thinking that Republicans had to come to Minnesota to nominate Ron Paul instead of John McCain. At St. Paul's Xcel Center, where the real Republican convention is being held, a substantial number of seats remained empty. Next door in Minneapolis, however, a wildly enthusiastic crowd came close to filling the Target Center, capacity 10,000" for Ron Paul. Before anyone mentions Hurricane Gustav...well, let's just say that was politics as usual in spite of the neocon rhetoric because McCain with his photo ops just got in the way.Besides, Hurricane Katrina was projected as a Category 5 Hurricane while Gustav was downgraded to just a Tropical Storm; yet there were 79,975 stories on Katrina and109,832 on Gustav...and McCain.
