If the speedo read up to 200 mph,it would have pegged there too. Common occurance for speedos to peg after an accident. The only way to know the actual speed is the history readings from the ECM through the DLC, Why would investigators and LNS print non-facts such as that when they would not in fact print the name of the guy who caused the accident when it was available elsewhere?

Calm down, think positive. His parents don't want to burst his "feisty"bubble. Just imagine how that bubble will burst when law enforcement officials inform him of what he has done and what he has to look forward to that his parents decided not to tell him.Kevin and Joanne[thumbup] I wholeheartedly agree with both of you regarging this. One thing that I'm curious about though: how can a vehicle with a horsepower to weight ratio of mor than 10 to 1 attain a speed of 100mph in such a short distance unless he ran full throttle from Elm St. all the way to the point of collision? It is physically impossible otherwise..I recently replaced a complete gauge assembly on a vehicle. The gauges came from a wrecking yard and the speedometer was pegged at 100mph also.I had to reset the gauges Now in the case of the vehicle Morales was driving, obviously the speedo was looked at in this case, but a scan tool was not used to check the ECM for factual information.

I'm glad this incredible excuse for a human being didn't die of his injuries so he CAN be told of the horrendous crimes he committed and pay the price- hopefully as a very, very long term "guest" of the State of California so he can reflect every day on the consequences of his actions.

"He added that the family has not told him why he’s in the hospital or that he was involved in a crash that left six people dead and six more injured."

That he was "INVOLVED"? How about he CAUSED the accident? How about because of his complete disregard for human life he murdered 6 people? How about that because he did care, he left a 9 year old boy with no family and the memories of them being ripped away from him for the rest of his life?

Sorry, I don't see a reason to candy coat the horrendous actions of this man. Told my kids last night that if they ever did something like this don't expect me to defend their actions.
