Incumbents Bill Stokes and Aleck Dambacher easily won re-election to the three-member Reclamation District 348 board of directors on Tuesday.

Precinct officer Sharon Stokes said she didn’t have exact numbers with her, but Stokes had more than 5,000 votes, while Dambacher had almost 5,000 votes. Challenger Clayton Henke had about 400 votes, she said.

The election was based on land ownership. Each voter was allowed one vote for each acre of land owned in the district. Forty-four ballots were cast.

The reclamation district is responsible for maintaining Mokelumne River levees in the Thornton area.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
