Just hours after a multi-agency effort to crackdown on probation and parole violators ended in Lodi, a home and a local business were hit by burglars early Saturday.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., burglars pried the screen off a first-story apartment on the 300 block on West Locust Street. They pulled back the curtains, reached in and attempted to steal a PlayStation 3.

The burglars were able to pry the device off the top of a desk where it sat, despite the fact that it had been hooked up not only to a computer monitor, but to an outlet as well.

During their burglary, the suspects also attempted to steal headphones, but they got caught in the window. Only a computer cord was left after the burglars fled the scene when the homeowners awoke.

While police were responding to the call on West Locust Street, another burglary alarm sounded, this time at The Hollywood Cafe, located at 315 S. Cherokee Lane.

Police officers responded to the local restaurant, and searched the building to see what had been stolen.

It is unclear what was taken at this time.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
