Feral cat tests positive for first rabies case in county since 2011

A feral kitten from rural northern San Joaquin County is the first in the county to test positive for the deadly rabies infection since 2011, Public Health Services of San Joaquin County reported Wednesday.

The animal was exposed to the virus through a bat carrying the virus, according to a lab report.
