It’s America’s party and we’re all invited. The country is turning 237 years old this week and Lodians plan to celebrate with barbecue, icy cool drinks, outdoor fun and, of course, a fireworks show over the iconic Lodi Lake.

Admission into Lodi Lake Park is free, and the gates open at 7 a.m. for a pancake breakfast hosted by Kiwanis International.

The beach is open for swimming from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors can also rent pedal boats, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards through Headwater Kayaks and Lucky Dog Paddleboards.

Due to July 4 landing on a Thursday, something special is planned this year. The Lodi Chamber of Commerce arranged to move the Farmers Market to Thursday morning on Turner Road between Mills Avenue and Ham Lane. The market will run from 7 to 11 a.m., so that growers and market shoppers can spend the afternoon with their families instead.

Concession stands will sell beer, hot dogs, tacos, snow cones, kettle corn and barbecue. Ebenezer Church will raffle off a 1971 Dodge Charger.

The west side of Lodi Lake will not be open for parking. Parking for people with disabilities will be available on Laurel Avenue. The nature area will be closed all day.

The much-anticipated fireworks show by JM Displays West, the same group as last year, will begin at around 9:30 p.m., as soon as the sky darkens enough to see the colorful explosions.

But Lodi isn’t the only place to check out fireworks. Here’s a listing of every show from Stockton to Sacramento.

Galt will host its annual Independence Day Celebration.

At 8 a.m., the 5K Tonn Run for the Badge will begin at Veterans Field at 900 Caroline Ave.

The day’s events also include parades, horseshoe and softball tournaments, live music by Four Barrell, and a Kids Zone for games.

The fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. at the Galt Market Grounds.

The Stockton Ports will set off fireworks after a game against the Modesto Nuts. The game starts at 6:05 p.m. at Banner Island Park, located on 404 Fremont St. in Stockton. Contact info@stocktonports.com or call 209-644-1900 for tickets.

Prefer to spend the evening on a boat in the cool Delta? Check out Hilton’s Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza. Hundreds of boats will gather for a show shot from a barge anchored off of Mandeville Point on the north side of the Deepwater Channel in the Delta between Stockton and Antioch.

Village West Marina is hosting their first annual fireworks celebration after dusk. The event at 6649 Embarcadero Drive is free and open to the public. Questions? Contact 209-951-1551.

At Cal Expo in the Milller Light Grandstand, the show starts at 9:30 p.m. Parking is $10, but admission is free. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. at 1600 Exposition Blvd. Call 916-263-3000 for more information.
