State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson will join school bus drivers and school transportation officials Sunday morning in Galt for the 2013 Annual California Association of School Transportation Officials State Championship Roadeo.

The main focus of a School Bus Roadeo is safety. Drivers compete against each other using their skills in precision driving.

Each event is either timed or measured to determine the score. The events consist of an obstacle course that includes backing-up, parallel parking, student loading and unloading, rightand left-hand turns, and written exams on rules and regulations, as well as vehicle inspection.

Torlakson will spend the morning observing the staged events and participating in a ride-a-long through the staged road course.

I see you edited your article to include Sunday rather than no time and date at all in the original? Bad wine night editor/publisher?

News Sentinel staff, which I assume alludes to the "big M" or "little R", don't you think the date and time would be of importance in this event announcement article? ROFLMAO!
