A Lodi man was arrested after evading police and leading them on a chase, according to the Lodi Police Department.

It was just after 8 p.m. on Sunday when officers noticed Kenneth Angel, 55, riding his bicycle against traffic on Cherokee Lane. The officers attempted to pull him over to address the traffic violation, police said, but Angel pulled a U-turn and yelled "I'm not gonna stop."

As a avid cyclist in the area, Debby, I can tell you MANY car drivers are far worst than most cyclists. I've had cars run red lights and just miss me while flipping me off, drift into the cycle lane while texting, rev their engine as they pass seeing how close they can get, and frequently have drivers honk their horns at me while I am securely in my biking lane and well out of their way. I know other cyclists who have had things thrown at them like garbage and cigarettes.

And as a cyclist, I come to as much of a stop as most California drivers do.

If you and 9 other drivers are going down the freeway all doing 90 MPH and only you get pulled over, the other 9 don't make you less guilty.

why did the police decide to harass this bike rider? I see bike riders all over Lodi not obey the rules of the road. They ride on the wrong side of he road, don't stop at intersections. And dare you to run them over.
