A documented gang member was shot by other gang members Tuesday night, police said.

At approximately 6:51 p.m., Lodi police and paramedics responded to the 400 block of Maple Street where an 18-year-old documented gang member had been shot while he was taking out the trash, according to Lt. Tod Patterson of the Lodi Police Department.

Patterson said the 18-year-old was transported to a local hospital to be treated for a leg wound. According to Patterson, the injury — a gunshot to the calf — did not appear to be life-threatening.

Multiple rounds of a semi-automatic gun were found near the scene, though it is unclear just yet what type of gun was used.

Police reports said the two suspects who shot at the 18-year-old were wearing red.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is urged to call the Lodi Police Department at 209-333-6727 or Lodi Area Crime Stoppers at 209-333-6771.

The world would be a much better place if we could all just hug it out and pray together:)

Considering how often they shoot at someone other than each other, I would rather see them forget how to clean their guns so they explode in their hands. A batch of faulty (explosive) ammo would serve just as well. Some ammo that goes off while tucked in their pants would work too.

My thoughts exactly. Those imbeciles all need to learn how to aim better. Hit your target and nobody else.
