A documented gang member was shot by other gang members Tuesday night, police said.
At approximately 6:51 p.m., Lodi police and paramedics responded to the 400 block of Maple Street where an 18-year-old documented gang member had been shot while he was taking out the trash, according to Lt. Tod Patterson of the Lodi Police Department.
Patterson said the 18-year-old was transported to a local hospital to be treated for a leg wound. According to Patterson, the injury — a gunshot to the calf — did not appear to be life-threatening.
Multiple rounds of a semi-automatic gun were found near the scene, though it is unclear just yet what type of gun was used.
Police reports said the two suspects who shot at the 18-year-old were wearing red.
Anyone with information regarding the shooting is urged to call the Lodi Police Department at 209-333-6727 or Lodi Area Crime Stoppers at 209-333-6771.
