  Finally agree with one of your posts, WTF. The GOB's favorite saying must be the "glass half full" saying that is worn out.A few temporary construction jobs aren't getting it. How great these guys are at spending tax payer money and calling it progress.

  Correction--now it's 2 million dollars to tear up E Lodi Avenue. The 1.2 mil figure quoted last week but it seems the price has increased since then.This project seems out of control even before it begins. Lodi's "BIG DIG". What a waste!

  Why is it necessary to spend the money to remove the paved over railroad tracks on E Lodi Ave? Seems wasteful!The tracks on Lockford street have been there for over fifty years--no problem. It seems to me E Lodi Ave needs some attention, but it is lined with "eyesores". I don't believe spending 1.2 million is necessary at this time.

  4AStongLodi, you hit the nail right on the head! Ohhhhh, but dont forget the 125 low paying service jobs at Kohls. Here, WTF, is correct; we need manufacturing jobs with a skilled workplace that pays over $20-25hr.BUT, to attract new businesses to the City of Lodi the City itself NEEDS the position filled of the Economic Development Director. Just how many hat's can Mr King wear? It's just like the old marketing saying, "You need to spend money to make money,"While I am a giant fan, believer, advocate, supporter, etc of our local wine industry I would be curious to know exactly how much money directly impacts the City of Lodi. Since most of these places are in the County...see my point?

  Lodi Enterprise Zone ....did not know anything about Lodi having one,I know Stockton has an enterprise zone.That is where we need to focus.I challenge anyone to drive down any industrial area and count the large businesses vs the small biz.A little inside info,the numbers are not even close, here in Lodi or across this nation.You create jobs through the small business.I will see you there on Tuesday.Hope its something serious.Lodi is special,alot of great ideas/businesses of started in Lodi.We should lead the way

  It all sounds great. Hopefully Lodi Memorial will do more to keep down the MRSA and other life-threatening bacteria. And possibly Mayor Hansen can influence the Police Dept. to not lay for the many wine tasters outside of the tasting venues-a real business killer. Personally, I'm still saving up to pay for the water meter & plumbing costs.

  Boy, Hansen sure paints a rosy picture...and just like Bob Johnson, he uses the "glass half full" example.HOWEVER, what I read was a bunch of perks for corporations and the wealthy; no real jobs that pay a living wage...only "service" (read: low paying jobs) - nothing in manufacturing - green or otherwise; and, once again, gouging the citizens hard-earned $$$$ for their mega million dollar schemes. Sure, there seem to be some construction work...but how long do those jobs last?In other words....business and usual for the GOBs.
