Students and teachers from high schools in Northern California, including Tokay High School, with a strong interest in and knowledge of marine science are ready to compete head-to-head.
Twenty-four high school teams consisting of four or five students each will compete in the Sea Lion Bowl, an annual regional ocean science competition. The teams are tested through quick-answer buzzer questions and thought-provoking team challenge questions.
The winning team of this bowl will compete against 24 other regional champions in the 16th annual National Ocean Sciences Bowl at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee from April 18 to 21 in Milwaukee.
The bowl takes place on Feb. 9 at 9 a.m. at San Francisco State University.
The Sea Lion Bowl is part of the National Ocean Sciences Bowl, which is a program of the Consortium for Ocean Leadership based in Washington, D.C.
