Hutchins Street will be closed for the rest of July, August and September between Lodi Avenue and Pine Street to allow construction workers to widen the street.
The closure is part of a $1 million plan that includes new asphalt concrete pavement, new Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant sidewalks and pedestrian safety features.

For people's sake I hope so as well, but rumor has it that a rare 5 legged spotted thorncrest beetle bug was seen on that particular tree. I'm sure the government has agents parked under the tree 24/7 to prevent any disturbance to this creature's home. Time will tell.

I hope the large palm on the NW corner of Hutchins & Oak is being taken out. It blocks a drivers view of south bound drivers on Hutchins when driving eastbound on Oak towards downtown. Dangerous intersection.
