There's not much that can make a woman smile like being surrounded by a crew of firefighters in uniform. But in the 2008 Survivors Calendar, local women aren't just smiling because they are posing with firefighters. They're smiling because they've won the breast cancer battle.
The 2008 Survivors Calendar, with Lodi firefighters, is the first calendar to be created by Geweke's Pink October program. The 11 featured survivors are: Theresa Larson, Pearl Malmlov, Lyn Gerard, Sally Gribado, Connie Copulos, Audrey Churchill, Marcia Fitzgerald, Virginia Seible, Cassandra Durst, Lillian "Bo" Diede and Carrie Wright.

What a wonderful tribute to not only the women who have survived this terrible disease, but also to the firefighters who stood next to them for the pictures. Working in a cancer center everyday I see first hand what happens to cancer patients. This is just awesome.

You can contact the Pink October Committee at the Geweke offices and offer to be a model for either the calendar or fashion show. They are looking for models just like you!

If you would like to participate in things like this.... contact the "Pink October" foundation. It is a great organization that obviously does great things. The Lodi Firefighters assist throughout the year helping them at different functions.
