The 11th annual Rolling in the Mud bicycle race could have also been called Rolling Past the Mud this year, due to the dryer nature of the venue. Nearly 200 participants in a variety of age groups raced in eight divisions over a course on the drained and rather dry floor of Lodi Lake on Saturday afternoon.
"We used to run the event in November, but then there was too much standing water and mud. So much that the course wasn't really rideable," said Parks Program Manager, Grant Plath. Plath decided to change the event's date to March, which would allow the bottom of the lake to be in better shape for the event.
